Lifetime Achievement Award

Not every year, but some years we also have the privilege of giving out a lifetime achievement award to someone local for their 20 plus years of support, service and contribution to the dancers of the Greater Houston Area.  This year, we received a letter of recommendation outlining the many contributions of one of our local dancers.  A unanimous vote of the Elected HSRDC Board is needed for this award.

This individual began dancing in the early 1970’s along with her husband.  For those of you not so good with math, that’s over 50 years.  She was a long time member of the Cypress Swingers where she served as president for 8 years. She is currently a member of at least 3 local clubs and dances regularly there and at many others.  She continues to stay active with club and district fund raisers and special events that celebrate the square dance world.  She is typically on the dance floor for every tip and also for rounds when they’re provided.  She is known as the Queen of HSRDC among her friends and is an inspiration to us all.
