Newlyweds Celebrated at Brazos Bottom Belles and Beaus May 26

Brazos Bottom Belles and Beaus extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended Debra and Paul LeBlanc’s wedding reception dance on May 26 and helped make it such a memorable evening. Special appreciation goes to Gary Sanders for calling and Marilyn Waguespack for cueing, as well as to those who beautifully decorated the hall and provided refreshments. The celebration honored not only Paul and Debra’s marriage but also their shared love of square and round dancing.

Eighty dancers joined the festivities, beginning with a half hour of rounds led by Marilyn before the newlyweds were introduced to the song “God Did.” The couple then delighted guests with a beautifully choreographed performance of “Lift Me Up” by Darius Rucker, the first dance from their wedding, choreographed and cued by Marilyn. Continuing wedding tradition, Paul danced with Roxie Walker, who graciously stood in for Debra’s mother, to the Louisiana favorite “We Make a Good Gumbo,” before inviting all dancers to join in the fun. The evening continued with Gary Sanders’ creative and enjoyable mainstream and plus tips, along with more rounds by Marilyn, making for a truly perfect celebration.
