Each year at the Houston Hoedown, the Houston Square and Round Dance Council recognizes outstanding individuals with the Dancer of the Year and Dance Leader of the Year awards. We are now accepting nominations from members of the square and round dance community for these prestigious honors.

Nominees for Dancer of the Year and Dance Leader of the Year (Caller/Cuer) should have demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, and dedication to promoting and enhancing square and round dancing during the past year. Eligible nominees must be members in good standing of an HSRDC club, members of the Houston Callers Association, or callers/cuers affiliated with an HSRDC club. Any member of an HSRDC club may submit a nomination by providing specific examples of the nominee’s service, support, and contributions.

The HSRDC will also accept nominations for its Lifetime Achievement Award, which may be presented to an individual or couple whose 20 or more years of outstanding service, leadership, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the Greater Houston square and round dance community. A letter of nomination outlining the nominee’s significant contributions should be submitted. Recipients are selected by a vote of the HSRDC Board and be honored at Hoedown or another appropriate HSRDC event.
